Meet our Commodore
I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all members and visitors to MYC. My wife, Paula, and I have cruised the Saint John River system for over 15 years on our boat Concrete Decision. We monitor Channel 16 and whether you are an old friend or a boater visiting the area, please give us a shout. We are always happy to hear from you. We have welcomed boaters from various locations in Canada, United States and New Zealand and introduced them to the beautiful Saint John River and MYC cruising.
MYC is a friendly, volunteered based club. Our annual MYC cruise up the Saint John River is a highlight of the summer for many. During the cruise and throughout the season, MYC loves to socialize. We have several scheduled events and many others that pop up. If you see a raft of boats flying the MYC burgee, please feel free to join in.
We have a serious side too and we are very proud of our racing program. It is a top notch program which has successfully combined both seasoned and recreational racers providing a rewarding and comfortable experience for all.
Our club was founded in 1952. Our club turns 70 this year so stay tuned for the celebrations to honour MYC on its milestone birthday. As Commodore, I pledge to keep MYC very much alive and will work hard to maintain the values on which our club was founded.
Our club is all about getting near or on the water. Whether you sail, power, row, kayak or just want to sit on the deck and enjoy the view, you are most welcome at MYC. I am always available for a conversation and to answer any inquiries.
Please feel free to contact us by email or by filling out the form below.
We will do what we can to get back to you within a few days.
