About MYC
For over 70 years, the Martinon Yacht Club (MYC) has been a volunteer-led community dedicated to safe and social boating. Located near Grand Bay where the Saint John and Kennebecasis Rivers meet, we offer the perfect gateway to New Brunswick’s most beautiful waterways. Whether you are sailing the largest bay in the river system or navigating upriver to explore pristine coves and inlets, our club is your home base.
Why Join MYC?
A Growing Community: With nearly 150 active power and sail members, we are a family-oriented club that thrives on a "many hands make light work" philosophy.
Prime Access: Situated just miles above the Reversing Falls, we provide easy access to the river systems and the Atlantic beyond.
Affordability: We offer the lowest membership fees in the region, providing exceptional value for racers, cruisers, and paddlers alike.
Shared Knowledge: From new-member sponsors to veteran skippers, our club is built on a tradition of mentorship and Maritime hospitality.
While we don’t offer berths or winter storage, our wharf is one of the finest on the St. John River for easy water access. It features a water supply and a gin pole with a winch.
Member Services:
Mast Storage: Seasonal storage for a nominal fee.
Launch & Haul Out: Two scheduled days each season.
Equipment: Use of a mooring mover, dinghy cart, and storage sheds for outboards and oars.
Dinghy Storage: Onsite space for easy launching.
At MYC, safety is our top priority—especially for those new to the water. We ensure every new member feels at home by pairing them with a sponsor to help navigate club life and equipment.
Looking to build your skills? There is no better way to learn than by joining a crew. Whether you’re a novice or just new to the area, we’ll help match you with a skipper so you can get out on the water and start racing.
Founded on a passion for competition, our racing spirit has thrived for over 70 years. Join our active fleet every Tuesday night—regularly seeing 15 boats on the line—along with featured Saturday regattas throughout the season.
Beyond the racing marks, MYC is a club of explorers. We host a variety of organized cruises throughout the season, highlighted by our Women's Weekend Cruise and our signature Annual MYC Cruise. These trips take a fleet of members to scenic points of interest up the Saint John River, creating lasting memories for boaters of all ages.
We are proud to offer free membership for youth aged 14–18. This is a premier opportunity to learn the ropes of sailing in a supportive environment. Junior members are invited to join our Tuesday night races, where we’ll pair you with an experienced skipper to learn as an active crew member.
Note: Parental permission is required. While membership dues are waived, fees for specific marine services still apply.
Our clubhouse is a charming, quaint retreat featuring a full kitchen and facilities for members. The highlight is our spacious deck—the perfect spot to socialize, cheer on Tuesday night racers, or simply relax and enjoy the summer breeze and stunning views of the Saint John River.
Do you love to explore by kayak? Our Associate Membership is designed specifically for paddlers who need a reliable, friendly home base. Enjoy easy access to the river and a vibrant community of fellow water-enthusiasts.

⚓ Commodore's Message
It’s an understatement to say we pride ourselves on the community spirit that makes us a special place to enjoy the exploration of the St. John/Wolastoq river systems. However, as Commodore, I can state that I am honoured to lead a passionate and dedicated group of people that makes the Martinon Yacht Club truly unique.
Our club was started in 1952 by a group of friends and sailors. We strive to carry on that tradition and spirit of friendships today. You’ll find many of our members socializing on the water or congregating on our deck overlooking the stunning view of the St. John River. We also have a top notch sailing program that provides a rewarding experience for both the seasoned and recreational racer.
Our mission is quite simple: Get out on the water. So, whether you want to race, sail, kayak, or cruise on a power boat we invite you to sit on the deck, lend a helping hand or enjoy the view. The door is always open and all are welcome to be a part of the gem we call the Martinon Yacht Club.
